OIC International is a Washington, DC-based Africa-focused NGO with affiliates and training centers in 18 countries (Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, The Gambia, Guinea, Haiti, Lesotho, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zimbabwe). Each affiliate is a locally registered NGO, which operates with an independent local board and staff and is governed and supported by its U.S. headquarters. For more than 40 years, OIC International has been a leading force in transforming the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities throughout Africa. OICI’s Africa programs focus is on community empowerment and economic stability through workforce development, food security, agriculture, health, nutrition and enterprise development.
OIC International is heavily engaged with local governments and works to coordinate financial and programmatic resources between donor organizations such as USAID and the private sector and field operations on the ground. For the last two years, Agenda has worked closely with OIC to develop a messaging and communications platform to help the organization improve its funding from a variety of governments, development organizations, private foundations, multilateral agencies and corporations. In addition, Agenda has worked closely with OIC International to develop strategic partnerships with potential major corporate donors and have helped with conceptualizing and identifying sponsors for programmatic activities such as rural electrification, Ebola containment, HIV/AIDS engagements and work training programs in Africa. More recently, Agenda worked with OIC International to develop a comprehensive annual report targeted at the international donor community.
