Max got his start in politics over 15 years ago as an opposition researcher on a statewide political campaign. From there, he has served in a press, policy or political positions on dozens of local, state and federal political campaigns across the country.
Prior to forming Agenda, Max was a Partner at Allied Public Affairs, a public affairs firm specializing in field-based advocacy campaigns across the country. Before that, he spent eight years at Dutko Worldwide as Managing Director of their grassroots public affairs practice.
In addition to his background in political campaigns and corporate consulting, Max served in government as policy and political advisor to Governor Jim Gilmore (R-VA) from 1998-2002. In this role, he developed the Governor’s legislative, regulatory and policy agenda in the areas of economic development, trade and technology. Max also served as the Chairman’s staff to the Congressional Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce (Internet Tax Commission).
Max is also Co-Founder of Twang That Vote, a non-profit voter education and voter registration organization focused on the 100 million country music fans across the country, educating them about voter registration, electoral and civic processes, registering them to vote and turning them out to vote on a non-partisan basis.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Va. And a graduate of the University of Richmond, Max and his wife live in Arlington, Va.
